This week at The Ridge
This week is our long-awaited Missions Convention,
For Such a Time as This.
begins on Saturday with our International Banquet at 1:00. Please bring your very best foreign/ethnic dish! We also encourage anyone with traditional clothing to wear it during Saturday and/or Sunday.
We still can use help with the set-up, which will take place Friday evening at 5:30. If you would still like to sign-up to help, please contact me directly and let me know. You can call or text me at 708.870.0846. If you don’t reach out to me, it’s still okay if you just show up!
There will be unique and special music, activities for the kids (and a special toy or game for each child). We will also have a piñata!
We will have missionaries present with us throughout the event, including the two missionary families within in our congregation (Sadiqs and Rowlands).
On Sunday morning, we are going to take all of the coins in the offering, and give the money to the children of all of the missionaries that will be in attendance this weekend.
Missions is, I believe, the issue closest to the heart of God. If I read my New Testament correctly, the only thing that is keeping Jesus back from returning is having the gospel go out to every part of the world. It’s a really big deal to him, so it need to be for us, as well. This is your opportunity to find out what God is doing in the world, what
is doing presently, and what you can do to help us further fulfill the Great Commission.
Please plan to attend this with us. There’s food! It should be a lot of fun!
Men’s Bible Study will meet at 6:00, back to normal. The text is Genesis 19.12-29, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Should be exciting!
Youth Group will be meeting at 6:00 on Sunday evening, and they will begin meeting this week at
There will be games and pizza.
The Board Games/ Souper Sunday has been pushed back to Sunday, March 3. The time will be from 1-5, and includes a meal. And there are rumors of special entertainment, as well!
Our annual business meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 24, immediately following the morning service. We plan on a rather short meeting, so there will be no meal.
We will be sending a proposed budget out to members a few weeks before the meeting, to give you all a running head start so that you can come in with your questions.
If you would like to become a member, or if have any issues you would like addressed in the meeting, please contact me directly.
